Lafayette Mobile Home Fire
On February 8th, 2012 at 06:47 Lafayette Fire Department was alerted to a mobile home trailer on fire at 711 Meadowlark Dr. Command 2660 reported heavy smoke in the air while en route. Within 4 minutes Engine 2601 was on scene with heavy fire showing from the Bravo, and Delta sides. Engine 2601 established a water supply and went fast attack. Command 2660 arrived and assumed command, and assigned Truck 2616 with vent and primary search, which was negative. Crews got the fire out within 16 minutes, and crews started on overhaul and hot spots which extended for about 2 hours. 1 person was evacuated from the trailer north of the trailer that was involved, and that person was not injured.
