2nd Alarm Structure Fire

At 16:15 on December 15th, 2018 Thornton Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire in the 750 block of W. 91st Ave. at the Overlook Apartments. Truck 72 was first on scene to a medium side 3-story multi-family with a working fire extending to the second floor, requested a major incident tone and a second alarm was struck.  Truck 72 and Medic 72 began operations on the Alpha side of the fire attacking the fire from the outside of the building. Medic 72 stretched a 2nd line to the 2nd floor, Engine 71 arrived and assisted Truck 72 with the water supply. Battalion Chief 71 arrived on scene and assumed command, and assigned Medic 71 as Medical. Thornton Police Department shutdown 91st Ave. for fire operations. Engine 71 was sent in for primary search on the 3rd floor above the fire unit. At 16:24, the fire was declared out and crews started overhaul. The fire was started on the outside bushes and spread to units on 1st and 2nd floor. Two parties were transported with minor injuries to a local hospital.

1st Alarm: Battalion 71, SAM 71, Truck 72, Engine 71, Engine 73, Truck 74, Medic 72, Medic 71 & Squad 73

2nd Alarm: Battalion 72, Engine 75, Engine 76, Medic 74 & Medic 75
