On May 23rd, 2023 recruits from the Front Range Fire Consortium (frontrangefireconsortium.org) Class 2023-1 got to experience “Hell Night”. This is the final hurdle that the recruits must face before graduating this week. Starting early in the morning, they experienced the life of a busy shift. The 10 engine companies ran call after call, sometimes they could get a few minutes break, but occasionally their breaks were interrupted by yet another call. These calls ranged from simple medical calls to accidents requiring extrication. This was an excellent day for the recruits to show off what they have learned over the last 15 weeks of the academy. The Front Range Fire Consortium (FRFC) is made up of these member departments: Boulder Fire-Rescue Department, Boulder Rural Fire Rescue, Greeley Fire Department, Front Range Fire Rescue, Longmont Fire Department, Loveland Fire Rescue Authority, Mountain View Fire Rescue, Platte Valley Fire Protection District, Poudre Fire Authority, Wellington Fire Protection District and Windsor-Severance Fire Rescue.
