The North Area Technical Rescue Team conducted trench rescue training at Standley Lake in Westminster on September 8th, 9th and 12th, 2014. Team members were able to hone their skills identifying hazards, selecting equipment, monitoring the atmosphere, shoring the scene and removing victims. The North Area Technical Rescue Team (NATRT) was formed in June of 1995 as a coordinated technical rescue training program for area fire departments. The NATRT responds to specialized rescues in the suburbs north of Denver. The team specializes in rope, confined space, trench and collapse rescues. The NATRT consists of Adams County Fire Rescue, Arvada Fire Protection District, Brighton Fire Rescue District, Federal Heights Fire Department, Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District, North Metro Fire Rescue District, Mountain View Fire Rescue, South Adams County Fire Department, Thornton Fire Department and Westminster Fire Department.
